Radio Station Surprises Young Caller with a Heartfelt Gift

A radio station was holding open calls when someone named Owen called in to report how frustrating it is that no nine-cent coin exists.

The radio station in Australia then decided to do something incredible to match his on-air rant. 10-year-old Owen’s point? So many things are priced to end in 99 cents that it truly does not make sense to not have a nine-cent coin.

The radio hosts agreed with his logic, and went to work. They decided to have a coin made just for their frustrated young caller and they called up Jason Ree, an Australian custom-coin store, to help.

The process of creating the coin was caught on film and is in the video below, and little Owen’s reaction is adorable. You’ll never believe the steps in creating this nine-cent coin – they include ketchup and a pint of beer!
