In Texas, we love our trucks. There’s no denying that. And the 707-horsepower Rebel TRX coming out of Dodge in 2021 is sure to be the beast of a model we’ll be looking for to get the job done.

At an annual company product review, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles executives surprised those in attendance with the announcement that the Dodge Ram Rebel TRX concept truck had been approved for production in the next three years.

Known as the Dodge Hellcat, this 707-horsepower motor was originally eyed by auto bloggers and speculators for the 2019 Ram 1500, however, to their disappointment, this didn’t happen. The company’s 2016 concept truck offered comparable horsepower (at 575), but nowhere near the torque and capability of this pending release. As witnessed in the Fiat Chrysler Automobile models like the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, fans are aware of this engine’s power.

Furthermore, the TRX is reported to be set to offer “…both a new 520 hp 7.0-liter V8, called the Banshee, and the 707 hp supercharged V8, currently available in the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.” These are two powerful options that other truck releases have only caused us to dream of one day possessing. The TRX was conceived in direct competition with the Ford F-150 Raptor. Earmarked as a high speed, off-road truck, this wide-stance, long-travel model was meant for desert racing at triple-digit speeds. The Ram Rebel TRX, with its super-stoked need for speed and durability, will become the most powerful production truck on the market, effective today.
