Ranch Holds Three-Day Wizarding Retreat in Central Texas
If dressing up your room in Pottery Barn Harry Potter-themed goods and ordering a candle that will sort you into either Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, or Ravenclaw isn’t enough wizarding for you, then maybe you should consider a trip to the Worthwich School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. WFAA reports that adult fans (21 years old and up) can visit the Parrie Haynes Ranch in Killeen from October 27-29. Attending the Worthwich School doesn’t come cheap – each ticket will cost about $400, but that includes all meals, lodging, and activities.
The Eventbrite listing for the quickly approaching weekend states that while it isn’t an official event with connections to J.K. Rowling or Warner Bros. Entertainment, it promises to be a “magical retreat” where “…1st year students will be sorted into their houses upon arrival to the school. Students will participate in a wand making class when they first arrive at Worthwich school. Your wand is yours to keep and will be used in magical classes throughout the weekend.”
During the weekend, students will go to class, just as they would at a magical school. After classes let out, houses will compete against one another in “magical sports” practice. At night, everyone will settle down for movie screenings and “delicious treats and brews.”
