The Michael and Susan Dell Foundation announced in a press release that it will work to raise $100 million for Harvey relief efforts through the Rebuild Texas Fund. The foundation anticipates raising this goal amount in just a few days by bringing private donors together and matching gifts. Rebuild Texas will raise millions in the hopes of helping those along the Texas coast affected by Hurricane Harvey. To recover from the devastation of Harvey and its subsequent flooding will require efforts of both volunteers and donors. Goods, money, and time will all help the Texas coast heal from the hurricane, and the Rebuild Texas Fund focuses on supplying some of the money needed for the process.

Through midnight on September 4, every $2 donated to the Rebuild Texas Fund was matched with $1. This matching continued until the fund raised $36 million, for a matching of an additional $18 million. But, you can still donate after Labor Day. Go online to RebuildTX.org and give online or text the words RebuildTX to 91999 on your phone.
How Funds Will Be Used

Since the charity operating costs will be completely covered, 100 percent of donations go toward Harvey relief. Both immediate relief and long-term recovery will benefit, but money will go first to areas of greatest need. But the fund will have a special focus on four specific areas of assistance – small businesses, children, workers, and housing.
