Unless you are a local to the area surrounding Marble Falls, chances are you may not have heard of Cottonwood Shores. With a population of just about 1,000, it’s more of a place that most drive through, rather than to. However, the small community of Cottonwood Shores boasts a few of the area’s most popular destinations for dining.

On The Rocks

Nestled atop a hill between Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay, On the Rocks offers a wide variety of Italian and American cuisine from pasta to seafood to burgers. The variety, and in fact, the almost eccentricity, of the menu is a point of pride for On the Rocks. There is definitely a Hill Country twist to most items, and guests are encouraged to expand their palette to new flavors on classic dishes. The restaurant also has a large outdoor seating area and often hosts live music by local artists.

However, what makes On the Rocks such a popular dining destination is the view. Diners both inside the restaurant and on the patio enjoy what is hailed as the “Best Dam View” of the lake. Whether you come for the food or for the entertainment, be sure to take a moment to take in the breathtaking beauty of the location.

There is no debate that Hiccups Sports Bar is the newest hangout in Cottonwood Shores. There has not even been an official grand opening yet, although the doors did open briefly August 27 for a practice service. Once fully open, Hiccups will serve some traditional comfort foods with some unique twists (picture a grilled cheese sandwich with avocado and tomato and then the whole thing wrapped in bacon).

With its opening scheduled just in time for football season and its full bar and walls of televisions, Hiccups is sure to become a game day hot spot.
