Director Robert Rodriguez Needs ‘Edgy’ Extras in Austin For New Film

Director Robert Rodriguez has teamed up with producer James Cameron for an upcoming film called “Alita: Battle Angel.” The production stars Mahershala Ali and Christoph Waltz, and it might star you! Well, “star” might be too strong of a word, but the casting agency Third Coast Extras is looking for people to share the screen with top-billing actors. The only catch is you must have an edgy look and live near Austin.

If you have an alternative style to the norm, you can apply by following the instructions on the Beth Sepko Casting & Third Coast Extras Facebook page. They write, “We are seeking NEW faces OR people who have only worked on the show A FEW times with an edgy, skater, emo, hip look that have not already applied.” The shoot will cover the final scenes of the film.

If you get the gig, be prepared to be without your phone. The production team isn’t taking any chances when it comes to leaked photos; phones will be collected and only be distributed once within a 12-hour period. According to KXAN, “Extras are paid $25 for a fitting and $101.52 per 12 hours of shooting, with overtime kicking in after that.”
