In a social media post by the Texas Music Office, the entertainment lineup for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is drawing a lot of attention! “RODEOHOUSTON just dropped their ‘most diverse lineup in years,’ including: Cardi B, Camila Cabello, Kacey Musgraves, Zedd, Panic! At The Disco, and George Strait (w/ Lyle Lovett & Robert Earl Keen),” the office shared on its Facebook page.

This couldn’t be truer. Local media has recognized the efforts to mix it up for 2019, and so have the fans, as witnessed in the many posts on each of the RODEOHOUSTON entertainment social media shares. Calling it “Texas-sized entertainment,” the Facebook page has noted that tickets will go on sale January 11 at 10 a.m. local time (with an online waiting room opening at 9:30 a.m.) at rodeohouston.com. Featuring hip-hop, Texas red dirt, pop, and phenomenal country acts, the full lineup was officially released at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, despite the fact that social media and Ticketmaster leaks beat the organization to the announcement.

Running February 25 through March 17 at NRG Stadium, RodeoHouston is working to present a varied concert lineup in their efforts to continue attracting fans. Despite what some may see as a divergence from past practices, Joel Cowley, RodeoHouston President and CEO, stated that the event entertainment showcase “remains deeply rooted in country music.” However, he is “excited to present a wonderfully diverse and talented 2019 lineup.” Drawing a lot of attention is the booking of rapper Cardi B, debuting on Black Heritage Day, March 1. Named 2018’s top new artist by Billboard, she is anticipated to sell out quickly. Other large draws are anticipated for Kacey Musgraves (a Texas native,) as well as Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, and the Zac Brown Band… not to mention the fact that George Strait will close out the event with opening acts Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett! Individual concert tickets start at $20 and go on sale on Thursday, January 10 at 10 a.m. at rodeohouston.com. You can also purchase tickets in person at the NRG Park box office, starting at 10 a.m. on January 11.
