The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo kicks off on Thursday, February 8! The Western Heritage Parade and the Wrangler Cowboy Breakfast have already taken place (did you attend?) and the Stock Show Stampede went off without a hitch. Rodeo season can now commence, and Texas is ready for it!

Opening day for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo begins at noon on February 8 with a luncheon. The Dinner Bell Awards judging will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Food Court, where rodeo food vendors have submitted their culinary works of art and a panel of judges will be on hand to choose the winners. The three categories for their submissions consist of “Saddled-On-A-Stick,” “Delightful & Delicious,” and “Fried and Festive.”

There’s also the opportunity to meet the animals, experience the grounds, do some shopping, and get ready for the 7 p.m. show by Gary Allen on opening night! For first-timers, there’s a very details website outlining all activities and rodeo opportunities (the link for which is available here), as well as an app for your phone which can easily be downloaded.

All of the events, entertainers, and the rodeo schedule are available online as well as via social media. Performances by Brett Eldredge, the Josh Abbott Band, Midland, Chris Young, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, and Jeff Dunham, to name a few, are listed in order of date and time on the events portion of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Facebook page. And, all the rodeo action Texas can handle runs from February 8 to February 25. Are you ready?
