There has long been great duos in American history: Laurel and Hardy, Cheech and Chong, and chicken wings and beer. Yes, you read that last reference correctly. In fact, we like them so much that a festival in their honor is being held right here in San Antonio, Texas in March.

The Wings & Beer Festival is scheduled to be held Saturday, March 24, at Alamo Beer Company – 202 Lamar St., San Antonio. From 12 to 4 p.m. that day, chicken wings and glasses of beer will be in abundance and fans of the pairing should be planning to purchase their tickets soon.

Tickets will go on sale January 20, starting at $10 for a sampling of wings and ranging upwards of $45 for their VIP package. According to the ticket website, “…the best and most inventive chicken wing recipes from the state’s best chefs,” will be available on site. The Wings & Beer Festival will also allow wing fans to cast a vote for the Best Chicken Wings in South Texas! Various types of wings from dozens of wing masters will be on hand, together with Alamo Beer Company brews, which isn’t a bad combination, in our books. There will also be sweets vendors (for those that want to clear their pallet of the hot and tangy stuff) and handmade and product vendors to tempt you to shop locally. Links remain available on the event site for wing vendor as well as general vendor and sponsor registrations. Clear your calendars for March 24 – the Wings & Beer Festival at Alamo Beer in San Antonio is sure to be a real wing ding!
