Get ready for the Sandra Meadows Girls’ Basketball Classic 2019

The annual Sandra Meadows Classic opens in Duncanville, Texas, December 26-28, 2019. The state’s number one team in girl’s 6A basketball, DeSoto High School, will participate in the tournament.

For 16 years, Steve Martin has been the tournament Director. Under his directions, the tournament has become one of the most prestigious in the nation.

This year’s tournament brings together the top public and private school teams from across the state, and DFW MetroPlex. Seven out-of-state teams from states like California, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma will be participants.

In this year’s tournament, eleven new teams will be making their first appearance. Eighteen teams outside the MetroPlex will make up the 32 team field. Central and South Texas will be represented by five teams. Killeen, Houston Dobie, Beaumont Hardin Jefferson, Houston Village, and Vista Ridge Cedar Park (Austin).

The Duncanville Lions Club is proud to partner with Duncanville ISD, Duncanville Chamber of Commerce, and City of Duncanville. All working together to make the Sandra Meadow’s Classic one of the elite tournaments in the state.

“Our goal for the Sandra Meadow’s Classic is simply to continue building a great tradition honoring Coach Meadows and sharing the best talent in girls’ basketball,” said Tournament Director Steve Martin.

“During the three days you spend with us at the Sandra Meadow’s Arena, we want to help make your visit a memorial one. If you have any questions or need help, see us at our information table or talk to anyone wearing a Lions Club badge or vest,” Concluded Martin.

Sandra Meadows Memorial Arena seats 2,000 and is home to one of the state’s top girls’ basketball programs and home to the 2018 State Boys State Champions.
