Thrill-seekers will soon have another reason to head to Texas in the summer.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Galveston is preparing for their 10th Anniversary season. As a special gift to their dedicated park-goers, Schlitterbahn is building a brand new, record-breaking attraction.

MASSIV, a 926-foot-long water coaster, is set to open this spring. Those brave enough to climb 123-step staircase will embark on an adventure they won’t soon forget. According to the Houston Chronicle, MASSIV is made up of 135 slide segments, including seven transparent tubes that make you feel like you’re floating on air. “Water blasters” will catapult riders up and over hills before they are pushed out into a large landing pool.

Opening record-breaking attractions is nothing new for Schlitterbahn. Over the years, the water park has opened the world’s longest river ride and the tallest waterslide in history. Each year, they attract thousands of visitors from across the globe. Since opening in 1979, the park has won numerous awards and have repeatedly been voted as one of the best water parks in the country.

Are you ready to take a ride on this gravity-defying, scream-inducing water ride? You can be one of the first to face MASSIV when Schlitterbahn opens for the 2016 season on March 5.
