Officers were dispatched Tuesday night around 11:30 p.m. to the scene of a drive-by shooting in northwest San Antonio. When arriving on scene in the 11000 block of Colt Chase, they found an unidentified 30-year-old woman shot in the face.

According to KSAT, James Keith, spokesman for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, said the woman had opened the outer glass storm door and had an argument with someone outside. That’s when, Keith said, the person fired a single shot that shattered the glass door and then went through the inner wooden door, striking her.

An EMS crew transported the woman to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The Bexar County Medical Examiner is working to identify the woman. Once her identity is confirmed and family members notified, her name will be released to the public.

Inside the home, a nine-year-old boy slept through the chaos and carnage. A man was also inside the home. Neither was harmed.

A black car and a black SUV were seen leaving the area, but at this time no suspects have been identified or arrested. Anyone having any information about this incident is asked to call BCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division at (210) 335-6070.
