Search Team Finds Bones on Property in Plum Grove, Texas

By  |

Volunteers from Texas EquuSearch and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse spent their Saturday morning searching across a field on their hands and knees in Plum Grove, Texas. Grimly, the search party was looking for hand and foot bones missing from skeletal remains that were found a week earlier.

The group quickly uncovered more bones, including a rib, closer to a neighboring property. Liberty County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Capt. Ken DeFoor believes that dogs they’ve seen nearby might have moved some remains.

An autopsy on the original remains that were found by the property owners revealed that they belonged to an adult female’s body. Since officials do not know who the woman was, they’re hoping to pull DNA from the bones and match up the results with a missing persons report.

It has yet to be determined if the bones found on Saturday are a definite match with the remains previously found, but several black hairs and clothing items have also been discovered. All of these pieces will eventually add up to reveal the disturbing tale of what happened to this woman.
