The second-oldest dance hall in Texas is being auctioned off to one lucky bidder on eBay! Open for business in the 1890s, Schroeder Hall, has remained open through the last century as the scene for many a famous country singer to play, and the venue for loving, leaving, or generally having a good ole time out on the dance floor.

Artists such as Willie Nelson, George Jones, and Merle Haggard have graced the stage of Schroeder Hall, along with Texas country music singers such as Pat Green, Kevin Fowler, and Robert Earl Keen, to name a few. Known as a great venue for playing, as well as a fantastic traditional Texas dance hall (which appear to be going the way of the dinosaur these days) the hall, along with the five acres it sits on, are being auction on eBay, which as of the morning of April 10, 2017, had a high bid of $250,000.

Located between Victoria and Goliad in the small town of Schroeder, Texas, the dance hall has survived town growth, decline, a town renaming, a town fire, and town regrowth again! It’s seen its fair share of changes to the state and the local area, but it remains a complete entertainment facility that draws a great crowd. Ideal for family parties, anniversaries, wedding receptions, family reunions, and fundraisers, Schroeder Hall features a true Texas hardwood dance floor which is perfect for stomping your boots on at live performances and shuffling your sweetheart around when you’re dancing! It has a great atmosphere and a history one could probably write a book about, and now it’s going to belong to one lucky (and quite astute at business) bidder in an eBay auction that closes at 12:04 p.m. on April 15.
