“I know you have a lot of stressful things going on and you may be overwhelmed, but just realize that life is beautiful. Things will get better,” read a pretty, glittery letter left anonymously in the Bedford, Texas boutique, The Coat of Many Colors. The note was found by store employee Eliana Palacios who cherished the message, especially since she was struggling with deciding between two career paths.

The Dayton Beach News-Journal republished the article that originally appeared in the Dallas Morning News which says that while the letter had an email address to respond to and Palacios reached out, she never received a response from whoever was behind the sweet message. The Dallas Morning News then reached out to the letter writer and the author revealed her identity. Angela Joy Bailey, 27, has been leaving the kind notes throughout the Grapevine area in schools, hospitals and stores. She says she’s shy and doesn’t want the attention, but she wants to spread happiness.

Her mission is called Spread Joy 24-7, and the main idea is to share a kind message with a stranger via an uplifting letter. So far, Bailey has left around 400 uplifting notes. Her website encourages people to take action and post photos of a letter they find or of one they leave. “The world needs more love and joy!” Bailey writes.
