Fans of Selena can now visit a beautiful and accurately rendered wax figure of the singer at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Hollywood. In an incredible effort, fans actually made the Selena Quintanilla sculpture happen by initiating an online petition requesting that Madame Tussauds honor the Tejano icon.

According to Click2Houston.com, “Selena’s outfit recreated a stage look from her concert that was held at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi on Feb. 7, 1993.”

In order to truly capture her style and personality, artists worked with the Quintanilla family to develop the figure valued at $350,000. Her family attended the unveiling of the statue which fell on the same date as the release of her hit album “Dreaming of You” 21 years ago.

Many fans felt emotional after seeing the wax figure of her likeness. “I literally almost cried when I saw Selena‘s wax figure unveil, looked like she was just standing there,” tweeted MzMey.

Selena was shot when she was only 23-years-old, but she had already captured the hearts of anyone who loved Tejano or pop music with melodious songs like “I Could Fall in Love,” “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” “Tu, Solo Tu” and “Dreaming of You.”
