Ever wonder what it would be like to have an exact 3D replica of yourself? Well, a company founded in Dusseldorf, Germany with locations currently in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco is doing just that with the doob™. The local CBS station in Dallas, TX, CBS DFW, shared an interesting report on the newest trend sure to sweep the nation. Now you can literally capture and have a replica of a snapshot in time of your family, your pet, or your friends with an invention from this full-service 3D tech company.

The process is quite simple. You visit a doob™ storefront first. There is not one in Texas yet, but according to their website, they have plans to expand globally and “partnering with some of today’s most popular brands.” They are one of a few new companies across the globe creating these tiny figurines.

Once there, they will check for hairs out of place, make sure you are picture perfect, and even help you strike a pose you will be happy with. Next, you step into their machine called the doob-licator™, you show out your pose, and bam! Their “high-speed scanning” captures that moment in time along with every detail down to the wrinkles in your jeans or shirts. Their customized software goes to work converting your image into high-resolution 3D files that are sent to one of their production companies to be 3D printed. Your doob™ is ready in about 2-3 weeks.

Just another way besides the typical selfie to leave behind a unique and creative display of yourself or loved one to be admired for years to come. A few other companies shared among the comments of the CBS DFW story that are in Texas and can create the same type of 3D replica are “That’s Me 3D” in Houston and “Photo Sculpt” in Frisco.
