How to Make a Rustic Texas Flag with Wooden Pallets
You can never have too many Texas flags around. This rustic Texas flag made from pallet wood is the perfect rainy day project, and it’s easy to recreate yourself.
Published by Dan the Maker Man on YouTube and Instructables, this DIY-er shows exactly how he created this amazing Lone Star flag. It measures in at 44 x 65 inches and is perfect for that empty wall in your sunroom.
Unintentionally, he ended up using planks of the same width because he felt the ending result was a cleaner, crisp design that put the paint front and center. Eventually, this flag will be backlit with LED lights, as he writes in the YouTube video description.
To bear the weight of the planks, the frame had to be sturdy and durable while also remaining hidden. The paint job was also an interesting story as he layered three different whites to add a beautiful depth to the flag coloration.
He also points out that the basic pallet design could be used for a variety of purposes, from hanging photographs on to creating a vintage design using stencils. This is a handy DIY to keep in your back pocket for a rainy day.
