Try not to miss it, first: the front of the building is unassuming and looks very similarly brown to its neighbors along the road. Inside, however, features plenty of seating and tables to hold small groups or larger parties, as well as bar stools. Beyond the back door is a multi-leveled, half-covered patio facing the beautiful Guadalupe River. Enjoy the breeze while fish jump and birds flit around. A full bar is available, and beer selection is plentiful and ice cold.
Another twist at Pier 27 River Lounge is the extensive menu of vittles. It includes charbroiled oysters, gumbo, pizza, and sandwiches with homemade potato chips. Be sure to try the ceviche and the maque choux grits! Lunch and dinner are both served here daily; locals and tourists alike can’t seem to get enough. If you have to rush off, call ahead and pick up some take-out.
But if you’re not in a hurry and looking to be entertained, Pier 27 River Lounge does that too! Multiple pool tables are inside, ready for a game of 8 Ball. Live music is a steady feature as well as karaoke twice a week. Big screen televisions are posted to keep you in the sports loop as well. Parking is plentiful and easily accessible; weekends can get busy, so go early if you want to sit anywhere you’d like.
