The first season of Animal Planet’s “Lone Star Law” premiered this year. According to IMDB, the show ‘”features the men and women of the Texas Game Wardens who protect more than a quarter-million square miles of deserts, lakes, piney woods, bayous, plains and coast in the second-largest state in the U.S.” Soon, a Silsbee resident will star in an episode of the new hit program. Pam Jordan will represent life as a squirrel (and other Texas wildlife) rehabilitator.

The Beaumont Enterprise writes that Jordan currently takes care of five resident squirrels who all need daily treatment before they’re ready to reenter the wild. They live in her 10′ tall “nut house” near her other charmingly picturesque rehab areas for animals like raccoons and deer and several tortoises, three of which are her own pets.

When it comes to healing wildlife, Jordan knows what to look for. She told the newspaper, “You want them to get wild, you want them to get mean. You want them acting the way they would in their natural habitat.”

Even though Jordan is a skilled wildlife rehabilitator with a beautiful piece of property, she says she knows who the real breakout star of the “Lone Star Law” episode will be – her adorable pet deer Annie.
