What happens when you mix 12 Americana, Red Dirt bands on two stages and party barges, with 16 distillers featuring over 30 craft cocktails, and a water park/restaurant/bar? You get the inaugural Sip, Slide & Song Festival at Beachside Billy’s located on Volente Beach at Lake Travis, just outside of Austin. It’s happening this Saturday, September 30 from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. All proceeds from this event go to benefit the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM).

In case you aren’t familiar with it, Beachside Billy’s at Volente Beach is located on the shores of Lake Travis and is the perfect getaway for children and adults alike on a hot summer (or fall!) day. There are pools for children and adults and a private, sandy beachfront with three volleyball courts (two are lighted, one not). Billy’s Beachside offers an upscale casual restaurant specializing in mouth-watering entrees and a grill with the best burgers and sandwiches on the lake. Even better is that picnics are permitted, so load up the cooler and come on out. There are plenty of options for the kids as well, including ice cream, and much more.

Over 16 Local Distilleries Represented

At the Sip, Slide & Song Festival, you’ll be able to test specialty craft cocktails from most of the local distillers. The Austin, Texas area should be very proud of what their distillers are accomplishing nationwide.  Tito’s is everywhere and Deep Eddy, Dulce Vida, Treaty Oak, and Rebecca Creek are expanding daily.  Others include many startups just barely old enough to pour their own whiskey!

The musical lineup for the Sip, Slide & Song festival is positively swoon-worthy. Headlining the show will be Kevin Fowler along with JB and the Moonshine Band, Brandon Rhyder and Hudson Moore. Other up and coming bands include Creed Fisher, Mike McClure Band, The Statesboro Revue, Aaron Einhouse, The Buffalo Ruckus, Prophets and Outlaws, Chubby Knuckle Choir, and Graham Wilkinson Music.
