Last week, Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington announced that their hero-themed roller coasters, like Superman and Batman, will have major villainous competition with a brand new roller coaster to be built in 2017 – The Joker.

The Joker ride will be a 4-D “free-fly coaster” meaning that those brave enough to strap in will flip and rock back and forth throughout the ride sporadically. DFW CBS reports, “The attraction begins with a 90-degree elevator-style lift, 12 stories into the air, before rolling over hills and snaking around to the start. The experience lasts about one chaotic minute. The unpredictable nature of the flips ensures a unique ride everytime for each person.”

According to Roller Coaster DataBase, two other Six Flags location in the U.S. plan on welcoming a Joker roller coaster in 2017, Six Flags New England in Massachusetts and Six Flags Great America in Illinois, joining three locations where the ride already has been built.

Texas coaster enthusiasts can watch this dizzying video filmed at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey to see what they can look forward to next spring in Arlington! Riders are seen grinning ear to ear almost maniacally like The Joker himself.
