Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington opened up their beloved theme park on Saturday, February 25th for their 56th season. “We’re ready. Are you?” they posted on their Facebook page along with a video showing photos of the improvements that were made during the off-season. Fans of the theme park were thrilled to see the news and the changes. “Woohoo!! I love walking into the park at rope drop on opening day and looking at all of the clean and freshly painted buildings and rides. I can’t wait!!!” Linda Freeman wrote.

The Star-Telegram points out that even though Six Flags Over Texas is open again, visitors will need to wait until later in the year to experience the highly anticipated new roller coaster, The Joker. “The Joker will be the park’s 13th coaster and will lift riders straight up a 12-story hill and drop them straight back down,” they write.

There isn’t an opening date for The Joker yet, but Six Flags Over Texas recently posted a video of the final piece of the coaster being installed. It’s incredible to watch the crane lift the colorful piece of track high into the air where workers snapped it into place to create a scary/fun new attraction.
