On your mark, get set, GO! Not wind, nor humidity, nor overcast skies could stop this San Marcos community on their race to fight against cancer. On Sunday April 10, 2016, the 3rd Annual Got Your Back 5K took off at Five Mile Dam Park along the beautiful banks of the San Marcos River. This was a family affair, men, women, children and even our furry friends were fighting to make a difference.

Bad News but Then There is Good News!

Each year thousands of people die from cancer, men, women, children, young, old, African American, Hispanic, Caucasian, cancer knows no boundaries. In September of 2014, David M. Gish, aged 52, a well-known and respected member of the Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas courageously fought and lost his life to cancer. In honor of Mr. Gish, Texas State University now holds an annual Got Your Back 5K.  The good news is that people living beyond cancer diagnosis are approximately 14.5 million in 2014 and are expected to increase in the future, and you can help!
