‘The Artists of Fredericksburg’ in English (or just ‘DK’ for short), is a nonprofit membership organization founded by a group of local artists in 1993, its name honoring the area’s German heritage. ‘DK’ actively promotes appreciation of and support for the visual arts across the Texas Hill Country, and encourages artists at all levels of experience to continually develop their talents. As part of this educational mission, the group has a sizeable lending library of art education DVDs, and it holds regular monthly meetings that feature demonstrations by noted artists.

These meetings, held monthly from September through June at the Hill Country University Center, are free and open to the public. Interested in joining? New members are always welcome. Come check us out! For more information, visit dkfredericksburg.org or drop a note to DK, PO Box 1122, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
Die Künstler also provides a range of exhibiting opportunities throughout the year to showcase its members’ diversity and creative energy to art patrons and to the general public. These activities include providing exhibition space for members to sell their art at a one-day Spring Arts Festival in March at Fredericksburg’s Marktplatz; maintaining a rotating display of original artwork in the Fredericksburg Theater Company lobby, and mounting DK’s major event of the year: the ever-popular annual Die Künstler von Fredericksburg Fine Art Show and Sale, always held on the second weekend in November.
