Treat Your Team To Spicy Crab Balls

Spicy Crab Balls make a great snack. Quick to make. Easy to serve.

Whether your blood bleeds orange for UT, maroon for A&M, or any other color for your favorite “boys”, these are great for serving your team when they come over to catch the “Big Game”.

Spicy Crab Balls

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb lump crab meat, special or claw (can substitute imitation crab meat)

1 large egg, whisked

2 Tbsp mayonaisse

2 tsp mustard

1 Tbsp fresh green onion, finely chopped

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Zatarain’s Crawfish, Shrimp, Crab boil powder

1 lemon zest, grated

1 c Progresso Italian bread crumbs, divided

2 Tbsp parsley flakes

You can substitute cooked ground chicken or turkey for the non -seafood eaters and serve with a cranberry relish dipping sauce…perfect for the holidays.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine crab meat, egg, Miracle Whip, mustard, green onion, Zatarain’s powder, lemon zest, and garlic.

Add 1/3 of the bread crumbs.

Fold ingredients together

On a large plate, combine remaining bread crumbs and parsley.  Form the crab mixture into 1 1/2 inch balls. Roll balls in the bread crumbs and parsley mixture.

Deep fry at 320 degrees for 3 minutes or until golden brown

Remove and drain oil

Serve with spicy cocktail or tartar sauce
