Hailing from Torreón, in the Mexican state of Coahuila, Susana has lived and worked around the world, and attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. Back Torreón, she and her husband purchased the chocolate shop, Délice Chocolatier & Patisserie, and followed that up with a second location in San Antonio, in the Texas Hill Country, and it’s that staying power and love of the creation that proves what Susana can do!

Going for the Gusto!

Pitting eight professional cooks (a mix of professional, amateur and self-taught) against each other for a chance to win $50,000 through a series of challenges, Susana – who runs two bakeries of her own – was most recently spared from a cut on the show when she finished in the bottom two of a challenge on this past Sunday’s episode (aired May 1st).

Brûlée Mêlée!

During this episode, the contestants were asked to create bacon and egg-themed sweets as one of their challenges. Susana’s crème brûlée cooked too quickly and turned out both over- and undercooked. She survived that hurdle, however, and the judges instead sent Audrey McGinnis home (a second contestant from Texas.)
