Spectacular Spring Break Fun at the Don Harrington Discovery Center

Finally, the idea of saving the best for last resonates with the DHDC, and they come through with shining colors for the Spring Break Spectacular. On Friday, March 15, 2019, none other than “The Zombie Apocalypse” will be happening! Kids can learn how to make their own zombie ooze and build a zombie shooter. They can also defend themselves in an amazing Nerf War Zombie Battle Zone, or go for the ultimate in zombie defense by blending in with the looks that can be created at the Zombie Make-Up Station! They can also create a zombie cure in the DHDC black light laboratory. Perhaps being a zombie isn’t necessarily a bad thing – you get to walk around all day muttering incoherently and searching for food, which is something 60 percent of us do daily anyway! You be the judge.

All Spring Break Spectacular activities at the Don Harrington Discovery Center in Amarillo, Texas, are included in the regular admission price, which is $14 for adults, and $9 for children (ages 2-12), students (ages 13-20), members of the military (with I.D.), and seniors. Babies aged two and under as well as DHDC members will have free admission. Not only that, but the on-site Space Theater will be featuring a different show every hour, and all exhibits will be open to visitors, including “Battle of the Titans,” the center’s spring traveling exhibit. Families are advised that this is not a camp program or a drop-off event. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Families are invited to learn and participate together, making the most of this one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy experiments, crafts, demonstrations, and activities. Come for the fun, stay because you get to make exploding volcanoes, fight off zombies, and put your survival knowledge to the test. Who doesn’t want that as a spring break memory?
