“Working at the State Fair of Texas is just as fun as a visit to the annual event. If you’re an outgoing, friendly and energetic person who likes to celebrate all things Texan, join the Big Tex team,” the State Fair of Texas writes on their website. Currently, they’re listing seasonal jobs in clean-up, PR, security, ride operations, livestock, landscaping, booth attendants, food and beverage, and several other opportunities.

CBS DFW says that the State Fair of Texas employs 6,000 Texans each year, 1,500 of which are employed directly with the State Fair. The rest of the positions are created by the small businesses that work within the festival like food and merchandise vendors and ride operators.

Applying online is fairly simple. By clicking on any of the descriptions, job seekers can tick the boxes of two extra positions to additionally apply for. Then, they’ll need to sit down with their resume and fill out the questionnaire that asks for previous job experience and other practical details.

In order to not leave out those who do not have access to a computer, the State Fair of Texas partnered with Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center as well as public libraries in Dallas to open up their computer facilities to applicants.

The State Fair runs from September 29th to October 22nd.
