Two San Antonio Women Steal Dog From Adoption Event

On July 1st, the San Antonio animal group Pause for Paws held an adoption event at the Petsmart near 281 and Bitters. KSAT reports that all was going well until the end of the event when a 2-year-old Shih Tzu named Daisy was taken outside for a bathroom break. While a volunteer had her outside, two women approached wanting to know more about the dog. With the assumption that they were going to adopt Daisy, they carried her inside, but once they learned about the $200 adoption fee which supports the nonprofit, they walked off with the dog. At the time, no one noticed as they were too busy wrapping up the event.

Now, Pause for Paws is searching desperately for Daisy. They’re worried since they know nothing about these two women, and the women didn’t bother to learn anything about Daisy from her foster mom, either. It’s also suspected that they might try to resell her. Pause for Paws has posted multiple lost and found ads on Craigslist and on Facebook, hoping that someone will come forward with the pup. ” IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING, PLEASE CONTACT US SO WE CAN GET DAISY BACK SAFE AND UNHARMED,” they’re pleading.

If you’ve seen Daisy, contact Pause for Paws here. Daisy is microchipped.
