Beaumont’s West Brook High School helped Valentine’s Day come early for one dear student that has been out of school for over five months as she battles cancer.

Marin Andress is a 16-year-old superhero, fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at Houston’s Texas Children’s Hospital. Her class at West Brook High, however, knew she needed a little pick-me-up just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Clad in red ties and white shirts, holding gifts for Marin, all of the boys in the sophomore class stood together for an epic photo-op to send to her. They also FaceTimed with her as she was receiving treatment, and really went all out to show their love and support for their classmate.

Her grandparents were also there at West Brook when the Valentine’s Day surprise took place, and her grandmother told KFDM how meaningful it was that the students took the time to surprise her granddaughter.

The class donated both gifts and medical cost funding to Marin during this event, but there is a special fundraiser for Marin Andress on “Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Walgreens off Highway 365 in Mid-County.”

We hope that Marin loved this surprise and that she is staying strong, healthy, and happy in her fight against cancer!
