Stuttering Solider’s Daughter Supports Him Through Bedtime Story

By  |

According to the Stuttering Foundation, about three million Americans have a stutter due to genetics, development during childhood, family dynamics or from neurophysiological reasons. It’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of, but it can be extremely difficult to live with a stutter in a fast-paced world where people can be very impatient.

Texas solider Lance Lambert has a speech impediment, but he isn’t afraid to push his comfort level in order to read a bedtime story to his young daughter, Avery. Lambert uploaded a video of himself reading on YouTube to show others how important it is to be brave and exercise understanding for those who have difficulties speaking.

Inspire More writes that Lambert is a 29-year-old U.S. Paratrooper, and he strives to be the best dad he can be even when he feels backlash from his hardships. The video is particularly endearing because his daughter clearly accepts him for who he is, and she casually helps him out with a few words before falling asleep cuddled in her Disney princess blanket.

The adorable look of pride on Lambert’s face for successfully getting his daughter to sleep by the end of the bedtime story is enough to brighten one’s day.
