With a focus on personal growth and maturity through summer camp activities, Camp La Junta aims to provide boys age 7-14 the opportunity to recognize their own positive attributes. Since its inception in 1939, Camp Longhorn also has a partner camp called Indian Springs, which opened in 1975. Both camps offer sessions of two and three weeks each for both girls and boys, in addition to a single-week program for those who don’t want to be apart for too long. The property features more than two dozen activities, including swimming, archery, and crafts, among others.
