Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce offers summer job hunters a chance to combine work with fun in the sun this summer. A Virtual Job Fair Portal invites anyone interested in finding a summer job on the Gulf Coast of Texas to join in from 3-6 p.m. May 13. The virtual event is hosted by Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend, with technology by Premier Virtual.

“We have more than 100 positions available in our community. We know there are people out there who would love a job on the coast this summer,” said Diane Probst, President/CEO of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.

The “Interactive Hiring Room” allows applicants to text chat and use the internal video chat to invite the job seeker to a “real time” interview. Employers will customize their booth with a logo, biography, job vacancies, job details, website, videos, and social media links.

At 3 p.m. Thursday the Virtual Job Fair goes live, and all registered employers will be in the portal in trade show fashion, with their logo in a booth setup. Job seekers should enter the portal and load their resumes into their profile. The job seeker will choose one or all employers to chat with, and a face-to-face discussion is available if desired.

To register as a job seeker, visit rockport-fulton.org and click on the event calendar for the Virtual Job Fair. You will find the links to register as an employer or job seeker, and you are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Jobs are plentiful in this coastal community, since the Rockport-Fulton coastal community is rebuilding after being decimated by Hurricane Harvey Aug. 25, 2017. The Rockport Center for the Arts is one of the buildings lost to the Category IV hurricane. The building was declared a total loss, exceeding $1.2 million.
