SXSW 2016 Austin Texas – It’s Totally Worth It
SXSW Film also brings it hard with a keynote session presented by Academy Award-nominated actress Ellen Page. The world premiere of Everybody Wants Some, the long anticipated follow up to Dazed and Confused by director/screenwriter Richard Linklater is also slated this year.
For those patrons who are more tech-savvy, SXSW Interactive has a torrent of events scheduled as well. Check out The Making Of: How to Create iTunes Extras panel, which focuses on how to create and upload digital bonus content to your iTunes media. Of course, it goes without saying that you will also want to check out POTUS Barack Obama as he discusses how to bring the United States into the 21st century tech-driven world and beyond.
Over the past years, as any festival does, SXSW has undergone some scrutiny. Too much of a good thing will invariably draw criticism. That is why it is important to remember the basic principle the festival was founded on: to serve as a tool for creative people to develop their careers by bringing people together from around the globe to meet, learn and share ideas. So if you are having doubts of attending this milestone year, simple look at the history that’s been made here. As they say, “Anything that’s worth it ain’t easy”. SXSW is not easy. But it’s totally worth it.
