Tempting Cosmoquila Craft Cocktail With a Texas Twist

By  |

First there was the classy Cosmopolitan, with fuzzy origins…mostly because those that were drinking it didn’t much care who made it or how, they just knew it was good! Then there’s that tank of a liquid beast we call tequila. Many of us have tried it, few of us have lived to tell the tale successfully after two or three (and maybe there’s a worm in there somewhere?) Anyway, the brilliant minds that create the cocktails we love to think we can mix at our backyard barbecues have found a way to combine the sweet/bitter sensation that comes from a Cosmopolitan together with that tasty tequila. And since Texas is known for some wonderful brands (Dulce Vida Spirits, Tequila 512, Pura Vida Tequila, Riazul, and so on…), there’s no need to shop out-of-state to make the tempting Cosmoquila craft cocktail.

A number of great mixologists have perfected their own version of this cocktail, and you can find their recipes at Drinks Mixer, 1001Cocktails, and Barmano to name a few. If you would like to try your own hand at bringing a Texas twist to this fabulously refreshing drink, here’s an easy recipe you can work with at home, earning your “Texas Tequila Lovers” merit badge in the process (no, no such thing truly exists. Such a pity, isn’t it?)

Tempting Cosmoquila Craft Cocktail with a Texas Twist

2 oz. Tequila

1 oz. Pomegranate Juice

1 oz. Cranberry Juice

0.5 oz. Orange Juice

0.5 oz. Lime Juice

Mix the tequila and all four juices together. Pour over ice, sip, and enjoy!
