Tesco Has Hilarious Response to Man Who Found Worm in His Food
Wes Metcalfe typed up a message to Tesco, a major British grocery and general store, after he found something unexpected lurking in a cucumber he bought – a worm! Instead of storming onto the internet and writing a nasty review, he expressed his upset in a light-hearted way. He decided to let Tesco know he embraced the tiny worm.
“I excitedly shouted the kids downstairs to come and meet our new pet. We decided to name him William,” Metcalfe facetiously wrote about the worm. He continued on to say that the whole family was upset to find that the worm was, in fact, dead.
He wrote, “I now have three very upset children, a worm funeral to plan and to top it all off I’ve totally lost my taste for cucumber sandwiches which as everyone knows are a favourite at any wake.”
Instead of copy and pasting a pre-drafted apology, Tesco customer care employee Rob sent back his condolences and a poem!

Metcalf then responded with a poem of his own and a photo from William’s funeral!

The exchanged continued with Rob reworking the lyrics to Oasis’s “Wonderwall” to reflect the life of William the Worm.
The full saga of customer service can be read on Facebook, though the thread has now become a posting frenzy from other customers seeking Tesco’s attention.
