On Sunday morning, Texans in the Hill Country and surrounding areas awoke to the back-end of torrential rains that occurred Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Flooding and dramatic water rises in many area lakes and rivers occurred throughout the day on Sunday.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, seven inches plus fell in parts of the Texas Hill Country, including Bandera, Medina, and along the Comal River. The Medina River was clocked at running 20,000 cubic feet per second and was closed temporarily to recreation on Sunday morning due to flooding. If you made your way to the beautiful Paradise Canyon along the Medina, you were turned away due to flooding.

However, these torrential rains did not stop Texans from enjoying the great outdoors on this Memorial Day Weekend.
