Confirmed by Guinness World Records, Scooter is the world’s oldest living cat and a Mansfield, Texas resident who loves the outdoors.

This 30-year-old Siamese cat was born on March 26, 1986, confirmed by his owner, Gail Floyd, who was right there with his cat mom when he was born. Floyd immediately took to this tiny kitten and the two have been inseparable for his 30 years. As Guinness World Records pointed out, “Scooter…became accustomed to riding on her shoulder, going with her wherever she went.”

Scooter is still an active cat and enjoys playing outside, waking Floyd up at 6:00 in the morning, and waiting for her patiently until she gets home from work. This incredible cat still plays outside and “has traveled to 45 of the 50 states…and often pays visits to the nursing home where Gail’s mom lives.”

He’s led a very healthy, active life, but did experience one hiccup in 2014 when he broke his leg and continues to be monitored medically since. Regardless, he still loves playing outside and loves to be dried with a blowdryer after his baths. “His favorite snack is chicken – which he’s treated to every other day.”

It sounds like Scooter has the right idea – a protein-packed diet and exercise outside are the keys to a healthy, long life. Keep on catting, Scooter!
