The Top 3 Swimming Holes in Texas
Texas Country Reporter recently put out an online poll asking residents to vote for the best Texas swimming holes. The qualifications are simple: any natural body of water in the state of Texas that’s deep enough to swim in.
Well, the results are in! Here are the top three best Texas swimming holes according to the poll rankings:
The third place winner is Hamilton Pool in Dripping Springs, Texas. This natural body of water was made when the dome of an underground river collapsed thousands of years ago. There’s even a waterfall which adds to the beauty of the location.
Second place goes to the waters of Garner State Park in Concan, Texas. If you love swimming surrounded by nature, this place is perfect. The Frio River draws tons of visitors to Garner State Park seeking to swim, tube, snorkel and float in the crystal clear water.
The top spot as the best Texas swimming hole goes to Barton Springs, right in the heart of Austin. The 900-foot long pool was formed when the Barton Creek was dammed, and the fast-flowing natural spring keeps the water nice and cool all year long. As Texas Country Reporter states, Barton Springs is a true Hill Country landmark and makes a perfect swimming hole spot for the whole family.
