Texas loves a good excuse to dress up and get down, and Halloween brings out our best! With our perfect trick-or-treating forecast, plentiful costume stores, abundance of candy supply, and no shortage of spirit, Texas towns top the lists of the best cities for Halloween. There are spooktacular places to celebrate all over the Lone Star state. Have fun haunting these Halloween hangouts!

1. Hill Country Halloween

There are innumerable celebrations taking place all over the Hill Country, from Canyon Lake to Cedar Park. Entertain those with a dramatic flair at Kerrville Hills Winery with their Halloween Mystery Dinner. Check out the energetic and robust musical revue by Schreiner University Choir in “This is Halloween.” Spend an event-filled weekend with the family and fellow outdoor enthusiasts at Jellystone Park Guadalupe River at BooBoo BOO Weekend. Fredricksburg is the height of festive in the fall with live music and shows all around town. Cedar Park hosts many Halloween events this weekend, including the Halloween Half Marathon and 5k. Costumes welcome!

There is something for everyone throughout Hill Country this Halloween; check out the pumpkin patches, wineries, safe trick-or-treating, family-oriented activities, and plenty of opportunities to show off your crazy costume!

2. Keeping October Weird in Austin

Between bar crawls, festivals, carnivals, and celebrations, Austin has plenty going on throughout the city! In addition to Halloween fun, this week is also Austin Beer Week. Craft brewers “promote and celebrate independent craft beer,” as they proudly describe on their website. There are tastings, pairings, entertainment, and family fun too! Face painting, costumes, and pumpkin events are fun ways for the little ones to participate. The Beer Week takes place all over Austin, at different breweries and venues, so be sure to check out the website and Beer Week’s social media to stay up-to-date on all of the hauntingly delicious craft beer events.
