Big 7 Travel, a web hub for travel and experiences, recently named Texas as the top state for being “Instagrammable.” The website put together “America’s Most Instagrammable States 2019,” and the Lone Star State ranked number one based on “visual allure and popularity on social media.”
The ranking was based on a review of hashtags per locale in addition to a Big 7 Travel readership survey (with an audience of approximately 1.5 million). According to the website, votes were also cast by a panel consisting of travel experts.

Big 7 Travel stated on their site that the scores were based on such criteria as “Abundance of Instagrammable spots, originality, natural Instagrammable spots, man-made Instagrammable spots and food and drink Instagrammable spots.” Abundance alone could put Texas miles ahead of the other states, but the amazing natural beauty that’s captured by the platform users, not to mention the epic food and beverage scene we’ve got going on here, are also heart-worthy on Instagram.

In a company press release, Sarah Clayton-Lea, Head of Content, noted: “It’s exciting to see Texas take the top spot as America’s Most Instagrammable State for 2019. With its on-trend cities such as Houston, Dallas and Austin, as well as beautiful nature (Hamilton Pool Natural Preserve instantly comes to mind!), it’s clear to see why Texas was such a favourite with both our readers and judges.” Texas is so vast that the number of locales in which Instagram users could find beauty, sharp contrast, and hashtag-able images is practically infinite.
