In order to celebrate the important holiday, the Texas Lottery created a Veterans Day themed scratch-off ticket called “Veterans Cash.” Proceeds from the game go to the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. This organization helps veterans and their families sort out disability, veterans’ rights, employment, health, and education opportunities.

Not surprisingly, the scratch-off card is a bright red, white and blue. It’s a basic game that requires “your numbers” to match the “winning numbers.” According to Click2Houston, it costs $2, and it “features four top prizes of $30,000 and more than $6.6 million in total prizes. The overall odds of winning are one in 4.14 for any prize.”

The Texas Lottery Instagram page says that the Texas Lottery began making scratch-offs to correspond to Veterans Day since 2009, and they’ve already raised $68 million for programs that benefit veterans.

Click2Houston quotes the executive director of the Texas Lottery, Gary Grief, as saying, “On November 11, as we recognize and thank the men and women that have bravely served our country, the Texas Lottery is proud to provide an opportunity for our players to support the 1.7 million Texas veterans across the state.”

The scratch-off will be available while supplies last.
