In a social media post which has gone viral, a Texas maid of honor recently wore an inflatable T-Rex costume for her sister’s Nebraska wedding, making it one of the more memorable matrimonial events of the year.

In August 2019, a wedding ceremony photo was shared by Christina Meador. She was the maid of honor. Her caption read: “When you’re maid of honor and told you can wear anything you choose…I regret nothing.” The image, which has been shared more than 36K times, shows Meador holding her maid of honor bouquet next to the newlyweds, dressed in a giant, inflatable T-Rex costume.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Meador said her sister, DeAnna Adams, gave her the option and like many good bridal party attendants, she opted to wear something she knew she could wear again elsewhere. And so an inflatable T-Rex costume was her choice. While many have questioned whether the T-Rex costume would have offended the bride on her big day, Meador made sure she received her sister’s blessing prior to the big day. She even advised that the happy couple went along with the whole thing with a great sense of humor. “I sent her a text so that she could have a laugh – surprisingly she was OK with it!” Meador explained in an interview with the Daily Mail.

The inflatable T-Rex costume isn’t a new novelty, but it certainly is something new to see it at a wedding. Prior to this, in 2018, a house went up for sale in Granbury, Texas where the realtor provided a tour of the property hosted by none other than a T-Rex. The idea that one would dress up as a dinosaur for a wedding, let alone as the maid of honor, is definitely new, however. What are your thoughts on Meador’s move? Would you approve of someone coming in a costume to be a member of your wedding party?
