On the Corpus Christi coast, Texas man George Saber was kayak fishing when a three-foot long shark decided it was hungry for a taste of the kayak and Saber himself.

A self-proclaimed adventure fisherman, as told to NBCDFW, Saber has been out a mile and a half from the Corpus Christi coast in his kayak plenty of times without incident. However, this time, with cameras rolling, something a little different happened.

In the footage below, you can see firsthand the attack on Saber who almost had a chunk of his leg taken off followed by a very frightening attack to his groin area. Saber hooked the shark and told NBCDFW“He obviously wasn’t a monster shark, so I figured I’d bring him on board, get the hook out, and get some cool pictures. He turned around toward me and started thrashing.”

Saber, from Plano, remained calm however and kept his cool, knowing that if he let fear and panic take over, the outcome could have been very different. He said he wasn’t scared and instead focused on not over-turning the kayak, lest he end up in the water with the hungry beast.
