Texas Millennial Apologizes to Older Generations in Rant on Youth Entitlement

Alexis Bloomer is a Texas millennial woman who took it upon herself to apologize to older generations for the ignorance and disrespect of youth.

When she published the rant on how millennials are selfish and basically useless to society, stating that they “contribute nothing,” she expected to reach just a few viewers. Instead, over 40 million people have listened to what she had to say, including Fox News, who interviewed her in the clip below.

She says that millennials don’t respect the country and instead idolize people like Kim Kardashian instead of people like Tim Tebow. She points to the idea that millennials want free, quality education, but are afraid to work for it and too lazy to really care.

There are a few issues that could be taken with this video. While Bloomer, who gave this interview from Austin, Texas, does make fair arguments about millennials, it’s also unfair to lump together an entire age bracket into one overarching category. Many of us know quite a few hard-working young adults who may not get the credit they deserve for being upstanding citizens.

Do you agree with this rant about the state of America’s youth today? There are three sides to every argument: one, the other, and the truth.
