Warning! There’s a Scary New Home Invasion Trick in Texas
Texas mom Kim Fleming Cernigliaro posted a huge warning on social media of a new trick used by criminals for home invasions near Tatum.
As JumbleJoy reported, Cernigliaro posted a photograph on Facebook of a terrifying experience that happened to her one day while she was home alone. She heard a loud banging on her door, and thought it sounded like the person outside was distressed by how forceful the banging was.
However, due to her own personal safety rule, she never opened the door. The stranger kept knocking and finally walked away after minutes of pounding. Concerned, she stepped outside about a half hour after the incident to see if the man was still around or not.
When she returned to her home, not venturing farther than her front and backyards, she found a rubber band pressing down on the latch, effectively keeping her door unlocked and opened. She called her husband who told her to grab the family’s firearm and call the police.
The sheriff came to her home and told her this warning: “This is happening all of a sudden, as soon as you unlatch the door, they do not wait for you to turn the knob, they can bust in on you.” The rubber band keeps the door open for an intruder, making it so you just have to unlock the door.
Spread the word about the rubber band trick, keep your loved ones safe, and do not go near the door if it’s a stranger outside.
