National Margarita Day will soon be upon us, and as a public service, we thought we’d share the news just in case you weren’t aware 1) that such a day existed, and; 2) that there’s a specific way to celebrate it. So, to help ensure you’re on the right page and don’t do something that’s out of the norm in recognizing National Margarita Day, we thought we’d first let you know how to observe it. Drink a margarita. That’s it. But, don’t just drink it, push your glass aside, and say, “Well, that’s done.” Instead, savor the flavors; the blending of the tequila into the drink, the taste of the lime as it sends you to your favorite destination in your mind, and the sensation of knowing that triple sec was designed to partner with these two to make the perfect drink. And, since some of you may be at a loss for where to find such a beverage in all its perfection (especially since it’ll be in high demand on National Margarita Day), here is a list of five places in Texas to get a great margarita!

A Houston favorite, The Pastry War is named for an 1838 conflict between France and Mexico, and the place is famous for serving up the best spirits that Mexico has mustered. Subsequently, it’s going to be a hot spot on National Margarita Day! Located at 310 South Main St., they have three flavor options on their margarita menu, all of which are seductively tempting!

3. Gerardo’s Casita

Labeled “Margaritaville” in their menu, one can imbibe a great house margarita, a fruity-flavored margarita, a top-shelf drink, or one with Patron which has flavors that are so good, it’s practically indescribable!

4. Blue Mesa Grill

Featuring beautiful blue margaritas, Blue Mesa Grill at 612 Carroll St. in Fort Worth would be a great Texas locale in which to celebrate National Margarita Day. Their Tequila Bar menu is considerable and it’s entirely possible that a flight of tequilas might try to draw your attention away from what you’re celebrating…which wouldn’t really be possible, would it?
