Statistics Say Huzzah! Texas Renaissance Festival Had an Incredible Year
The short blackout that took place at this year’s Texas Renaissance Festival didn’t mar the event one bit according to newly released statistics. This year’s fest was marked the 43rd year of the massive shindig that brings people from all over the state to take part in magical merriment, and Chron.com says that “…over nine weekends it saw large crowds, especially considering it was coming up on the heels of Hurricane Harvey.”
Though vendors report that sales were down a little this year, special weekends like the brand new Heroes and Villains weekend and the old favorite, the Celtic Christmas weekend, brought in a record number of attendees. Celtic Christmas saw 44,000 people enter the gates on Saturday alone!
After the gates closed this past weekend, the Texas Renaissance Festival made a poll on their Facebook page asking readers if they planned on attending again next year. Out of over 3.2 thousand votes, 98 percent of people said “yes.” Commenter Jessy Maham wrote, “I definitely have a reason to come back every year. Thank you guys for making the most magical and memorable weekend ever,” she wrote with a photo of her saying “yes” to a proposal from her new fiancé.
The dates for the 2018 Texas Renaissance Festival are already up on their official website. The next series of weekends will take place from September 29 through November 25, 2018.
