Move Over Manwich, Here Comes a Texas Sloppy Joe

This is no ordinary Sloppy Joe; it’s a Texas Sloppy Joe! Combined with BBQ sauce, jalapeno peppers, and garlic Texas toast this is a quick and easy lunch, dinner, or snack that will that will surely win your family’s approval.

INGREDIENTS:

1 ½ pounds of lean ground beef

1 can diced tomatoes

1 cup ketchup

½ cup bottled barbecue sauce

1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons chopped pickled jalapeno peppers (optional)

1 Tablespoon liquid from pickled jalapeno peppers (optional)

1 package of frozen garlic Texas toast

½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

INSTRUCTIONS:

Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring often until meat is no longer pink. Drain beef.  Return to skillet, stir in tomatoes, ketchup, and barbeque sauce.  Add jalapeno peppers and juice if desired.  Cover and cook for 10 minutes.  Prepare frozen bread in oven as directed.  Serve Sloppy Joe mixture over Texas toast and sprinkle with cheese.
